Orienthus and a travel abroad

Ali, the Turkish in my flat had been going around once per month during the whole year to a place called Orienthus -even though I have always called it Arabic Hus-. Every time, he came back with all his bags full of Turkish food. "You have to bring me there.. next time I want to come with you!", but I never managed.

Last Monday I knew that this last weekend was going to be the last he would spend in Sweden; it was the last chance to go to the shop and he to teach me about Turkish foods. So I told him, and so we did it; Chinmay, the chili guy, also joined us.

Yesterday morning, we took the long way till there, but it definitely was worth the journey. It resulted to me absolutely amazing to be in a shop, bigger than a supermarket, in which I knew nothing, neither the brands, nor the products. It was like being abroad again: stuff specially from Serbia, Turkey and Middle East, but also Iran, China, Thailand and even Ghana and Singapore; a whole section with hundreds of different rices, bakery with the great and lovely baklava..

One of my reasons for going there was to buy my own jar of grape syrup, which mixed with tahina and together with a banana provides you with a great breakfast. Even though I tried to calm myself and to buy all I would like to, my buy was finally much more extensive than expected.. damn, if I had discovered it before..!
